As with most of my books, I'm often given/shown a title and sometimes the finished cover before I even know what the book is going to be about! This book was no exception.
This poetry collection was released during a deeply emotional time; a time when I didn't know if I would ever write again.
In the winter of 2019, while in the midst of grieving the death of my daughter Serena, it was she who inspired me to write the title poem. It was not until that day and moment, when I knew what the "it" actually was. Although many of the poems were written over the course of several decades, about 10 or so emerged as I was grieving and literally learning how to walk and talk again.
This collection marks my debut into the realm of poetry. Although I don't consider myself a poet, there is something so human and sincere about this body of work, something that has resonated with readers and has prompted me to continue this type of writing. Soul Love, is another collection of poems I'm currently working on and hope to release early next year.
